Newsletter:  Word Processing

The product objective for this module was to design a newsletter using Microsoft Word, demonstrating both advanced word processing skills, as well as pleasing visual aesthetics.  My interpretation of this project was "Extreme Word Processing." I have made many newsletters in the past but I have never made a newsletter like this!  This project took me to places inside Word that I did not even know existed

Visual aesthetics and organization were of primary focus to me as I concentrated on making a newsletter that would be elementary school appropriate.  Taking the time to go beyond my typical operating zone in Word was a great exercise in understanding and utilizing the full capacity this software has to offer.

This project offers a fantastic benefit for my future classroom and many aspects of it will be implemented.  I do plan to have classroom newsletters because I believe it brings the class to life for both the students and parents.  Students would be an active part of creating the newsletter and an easy to use and readily available program like Word would lend to its feasibility.
