WebQuest:  Inquiry Based Web Lesson

Creating a WebQuest was quite a quest, indeed!  It was the most challenging project of this class, it was by far the most time consuming, and it is one of my favorite educational products I have made in my education classes to date!  The objective of this module was to design and create an educational WebQuest and host it on a newly created website.

I love the educational principles and philosophies behind a WebQuest lesson:  using constructivist theories of building upon existing knowledge; as well as scaffolding theories, providing students with resources to perform more complex tasks than they would otherwise be able to achieve without guided instruction.  WebQuests are a fantastic educational tool that allow for authentic discovery and learning experiences for students.  I will definitely use this powerful educational tool for my future students.

I designed my website on Weebly and its ease of use and variety of designs was outstanding.  The title of my quest is Project: Dig and the objectives are for students to explore and gain a further understanding of two examples of careers in science and understand the value of looking into the past to answer questions of today.
