Hypermedia:  Interactive PowerPoint

If my newsletter project was "Extreme Word Processing," this project was "PowerPoint on steroids!"  For me, this was the second most challenging project of this class.  The objective of this module was to create an interactive PowerPoint presentation for the purpose of developing an understanding of the potential for learning when using this medium type in the classroom, as well as developing advanced skills in the use of this medium to create interactive presentations that will support learning.

During my WebQuest assignment, I came across many PowerPoint presentations that were fantastic sources of information, yet almost none of them were interactive.  The interactivity was a very nice addition to the presentations made for class and an aspect in which I had never considered.  I love the idea of creating and implementing interactive PowerPoint presentations into the classroom.  My 2 1/2 and 5 year old children both were instantly engaged with Teddy's Balloon Counting Surprise and navigated through it as if it were a preschool-aged game.  It was very eye-opening to see firsthand the positive impact of my presentation and the excitement for learning it created.  My aspiration is to teach kindergarten and I am so excited to have a presentation to use with them!
